Combating Information Overload: Our mission to simplify the digital landscape.

In this post we review what inspired our brand's new visual identity and discuss reasons we still have a little bit of hope left for the world.

Our mission to simplify the informational landscape started over 100 years ago in Dessau Germany by a man named Walter Gropius.

Walter Gropius was a visionary architect whose passion for blending art, design, and functionality led him to found the Bauhaus School, where he inspired generations with his dream of creating harmonious, beautiful spaces that enrich the human spirit. Walter - a man of relatively simple means -saw the frothiness that was overtaking the informational landscape around him, not just verbally, but visually. The world was slowly becoming more and more of a chaotic place, things were moving fast and people couldn't stop to catch a breath. I believe this is happening again today and I want to do something about it.

Walter tried to take as far of a step backwards as he could and try to get back to what really mattered. Why is it that we crave beauty? What makes something beautiful? Does something's usefulness affect it's beauty? What does the modern world want so much, and why does it want so much of it?

These are questions Walter sat and pondered for the entire later half of his life and they're the exact same questions I'm pondering today. Everything seems so over-complicated and over-saturated to me these days. You can't even talk to somebody without them just breaking you down into your categories and judging you the entire time you're talking these days. Think about this. When was the last time you saw someone on the street and smiled at them? Am I just really depressed or is this becoming a trend - smugness, sluggishness, and lack of immediacy.

You're alive and breathing in this moment.

What else is there to ask for? Is this not absolutely amazing or did you just forget it was? Yeah, I forgot too. Not your fault, it's much, much bigger than you and I so don't beat yourself up too much. The problem, so far as I have discovered is that you think you are the center of the universe; I mean how could you not when everything that is happening in the entire world is happening right in front of you for an average of 6-8 hours of your waking life.

It's no wonder we're all so obsessed with ourselves these days.

Conclusion

Anyway, I want to do something about it, but as of now, I'm not sure what exactly to do that might actually help. Let's talk about it and try to figure things out together.
